The theme of my series is the mystery of nature and natural things. All the photos in the series are of objects viewed in nature, darkened and manipulated to come across as haunting. The textures embedded into each picture contribute to the secrecy and obscurity of the series as a whole.
The last photograph in the series, the dying plant, was altered in photoshop. I overlayed a texture of dirt and lowered the opacity of it to blend it in with the rest of the picture. I created a black color fill layer and also lowered the opacity. I used the eraser tool to create a darker vignette around the photo with this black fill layer. Finally, I again used the eraser tool to erase over my stem to make it more in focus. The end result made it look more like a painting than an actual picture.
